Lemon Bay High School Band Program Student Band Dues Information
What are student band dues and what do they cover?
The costs associated with running a band program are numerous. While the school district and administration cover the cost of some of our staff stipends and transportation for most events, there are many other costs involved, including music purchase, uniform cleaning, instrument repair and maintenance, additional transportation to competition events, instrument and color guard supplies, guest clinician/instructor pay, and registration for performance events.
What are the student dues for the 2019-2020 School Year?
The student dues for the 2019-2020 school year are $200.00. Student dues are paid in 3 payments: the first payment of $80.00 will be due on Friday, August 16 (First Friday of School), and the next two payments of $60.00 each will be due on Friday, September 6 and October 4. Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card.
IF 2019-2020 BAND DUES ARE PAID IN FULL BY MAY 25, 2018, YOU WILL PAY ONLY $180.00, A 10% SAVINGS!
Q. How are my son/daughter’s student dues accounted for?
A. Each student has an individual page for their student dues through Charms Office, an online-based platform designed for school music programs. Here, parents can check their son/daughter’s current balance, check the status of instruments assigned to them, and also make payments. All student band dues are deposited into the band program’s internal account with the school’s bookkeeper.
Q. Are there any fundraising opportunities to raise these funds?
A. The most successful fundraiser for raising all or even a portion of a student’s band dues are with the donation sheet fundraiser included in this packet. Students regularly use this fundraiser to cover the cost of their entire band dues before school even starts.
Q. What are the consequences for not paying band dues on time?
A. Students who do not pay their band dues on time will be ineligible to attend other functions outside of their normal performance expectations, such as Homecoming or Prom. Students with outstanding band dues will also be ineligible to attend the band trip. Also, any students who do not have their band dues paid in full by the end of the year will have their balance carried over to the next school year. Band dues are school obligations, and are subject to the same rules as overdue library books, missing textbooks, or other financial obligations to Lemon Bay High School.
Q. My family is experiencing financial difficulties; are there any options for us?
A. Our first recommendation is always to utilize the donation sheet fundraiser included in this packet, as it is possible to raise a student’s band dues entirely through donations with no family cost. If after utilizing this sheet your family still has financial difficulties, you are asked to please directly contact Mr. Eyrich within the first 4 weeks of school at [email protected] or at (941) 474-7702 Ext. 3412 There are resources that we can utilize to assist those truly in need, but we must have direct contact in order to assist you.
